Fit guide Because sizing is different for every era, we measure our clothing so that you, the customer, get an accurate idea of how the garment is going to fit you. Before buying an item please note the measurements to ensure a precise fit. Below is a detailed description of how we measure our clothing. Fit guide for tops: shirts, dresses, jackets, etc. For sleeve we measure from the top of the armhole to the hem of the sleeve while the garment is flat. Fit guide for bottoms: shorts, skirts, pants, etc. For waist/hips see tops fit guide. For inseam we measure the inside of the leg from the crotch down to the hem while the garment is flat. For rise we measure Crotch seam to top of waist while garment is flat. Shipping Items are shipped within 48 hours of payment via priority mail (2-4 days) and you will receive a confirmation email when the item has been shipped. WE SHIP INTERNATIONAL! We send our packages by First Class mail. If you are interested in a tracking number or insurance please contact us. Returns Penelope’s vintage does not accept returns for items that do not fit correctly as we provide measurements for you. Since all the items in the store are pre-owned we note every form of wear and tear if any at all and do not accept returns for items with minor imperfections. Please refer to descriptions, measurements and fit guides before buying. Penelope’s vintage only offers returns on items that have been grossly misrepresented for store credit or exchange only. Payments Penelope’s Vintage only uses Paypal at this time. You have 3 days to pay after you have won/purchased the item. After 48 hours we have the right to put it back up in the store for further bidding/buying.
For bust/chest, waist, and hip measurements we measure an inch down from the bottom of the armhole and straight across when the garment is flat. We double this number getting the circumference of the garment. For example 17” across would equal 34” for the complete measurement.
For the length of the garment we measure from where the neck and shoulder meet down to the hem when the garment is flat.
